Delonte West Finds Employment At A Furniture Store During The Lock Out

While some NBA ballers might be sitting at home figuring out their next moves, Boston Celtics baller Delonte West is making moves....literally!  The baller tweeted about his new job at a local furniture and you can see the pics inside....

 While Kobe and some other dudes run overseas to stack their paper, Boston Celtics baller Delonte West is keeping his money "Made In America" by taking a job at Regency Furniture Showrooms, a furniture chain in Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.

 

Delonte tweeted pics of his first day on the job and he looks pretty happy. He later hinted that he may have a few other jobs lined up too because back in August he applied at Home Depot and Sam's Club.  He said,

“I actually might have work with Sam’s (Club), BJ’s, selling knives.  That’s pretty cool too. I get a microphone and everything.”

A Tribe Called Quest Celebrates 20-Year Anniversary of 'The Low End Theory'

A Tribe Called Quest is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of their second album,The Low End Theory which was released in 1991. The album entered into theTime's All Time 100 Albums List and was named the #154 album of all time byRolling Stone. What set this particular LP aside from others even til this day was its layering of jazz samples and crowd favorites such as 'Scenario' and 'Check The Rhime' 

Aside from their album-versary, the group's award winning documentary, Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest which was directed by Michael Rapport is due to be released on DVD next month.

Diary Entry 1

So, i was talking to my cousin a couple weeks ago about how i can make my blog different then others and she said i should do dairy entries... at first i was very apprehensive not because i didn't want to talk about my personal life (because i'm an open book) but because i don't have much going on in my personal life LOL but surprisingly a lot has been happening to me and around me so here it is my first diary entry.

Okay so i'm just gonna start from the most recent because i'm like Dorie from Finding Nemo, i have short term memory loss lol . So today i go to the train station to put money on my metro card mind you all i had was $10 to my name i figured i would do 5 on the metro and 5 for lunch sooo... i put the money on and i swipe my card and it says insufficient fare and at this point i'm late for my internship, i'm carrying this big ass heavy laptop bag and now i just lost some money. So i go to the booth and the lady gives me some dumb ass envelope to send in to get my money back now at this point i wanna curse her out because who is doing all of that for $4.50 but to make a long story short i had to use my lunch money and now i'm starving : (

Then other day i'm coming off the train and its pouring rain outside and you know how us girls rest our phone between our ear and our shoulder alright cool so i'm fumbling to get my umbrella out my bag and my phone slips of my shoulder slides on the platform and FALLS INTO THE TRAIN TRACKS. I literally wanted to cry i went downstairs and looked under the tracks where it fell and all i found was the battery to my phone and I've been pissed off ever since ughhhhh!!!!!

Then i get home and i get kicked out of my ex-step mother's house at 1 in the morning i couldn't believe it i was so overwhelmed that i just cried all the way to my dad's house.

Okkkk (scratches head) what else happened recently.... Ohh yeah so i go up to my college last weekend and i was supposed to see my ex and he pretty much ducked and dogged me all weekend after he said he wanted to see me smh (Guys fucking SUCK!!!) I guess that was the closure i needed or maybe just the thing i needed to open my eyes and realize were officially over idk (i don't know, for those who don't know what that means) but i got the point... Anyway i didn't go up there for him so me and my girls had a great time we went out to a party and got pissy drunk for my friend/sister Jade's B-day, overall i had a good time at DSU.

I think that's all folks don't worry my life isn't always a catastrophe like this. Until next time Smootchessss

Fight Breaks Out At Wacka Flocka Celebrity Bowling Event (Video)

Last night, Waka Flocka hosted a celebrity bowling tournament in Atlanta, along with guests Ludacris and Toya Wright, that turned ugly for a minute when one of Waka's former artists approached him and a brawl broke out. At a bowling alley in the Atlanta area last night, Waka Flocka, along with his mother Deb Antney (shown above), hosted a celebrity bowling tournament where their company donated ten homes to single and grandparent headed households.

The announcement was made as Deb shared the mic with Luda.  Waka Flocka pledged to donate $50 per strike during the evenings festivities. According to Freddyo.com, one of Waka's former artists approached him and the two had words leading to Waka having to physically defend himself.

 Security broke the fight up and sources say no guns were involved.   Luda's mom confirmed the event continued without incident after the fight and "The Luda Foundation" team was victorious, beating both Rah Rah's Village of Hope team and Toya Wright's Visual Beauty team with an impressive ten strikes.

Common's New Book Releases In Chicago

The champagne was freely flowing as Common celebrated the release of his new memoir One Day It’ll All Make Sense with a rooftop soirée hosted by the Moet Rose Lounge in his hometown of Chicago on Tuesday night. The rapper-actor, who is currently on a nationwide book tour, was presented with a three-tier cake and signed books for guests.

It took convincing to get the book on shelves. “I was opposed to it even when the idea was mentioned to me. I didn’t think I was at a place in my life or career where I could write a book and have something to say,” Common told inReads.com. “But I thought about it when my manager talked to me about what the perspective of the book could be. It’s about the relationship with my mother and the type of human being I’m growing to be and how I want to pass that on to other people,including the people I love.”

iPhone 5 to debut Oct 4th

And the anticipation intensifies. The iPhone 5 has finally been given a release date, October 4th. Rumors have been swarming around about when exactly would the new phone be released but as of now the month of October is set in stone. 

Sprint, AT&T and Verizon will all be offering the iPhone 5 and Sprint in particular might be the only company offering the Unlimited Data with the new device for only $100. Unfortunately for Verizon and AT&T customers the data plans will stay the same $15 - $80. 

The iPhone 5 is expected to have approximately 200 features. Some of the features will include an updated version of the Notification System, News Stand, iMessage, iCloud, A5 Processor, a better camera, iPhone 5 camera, and much more. No official price for this product has been reported but it is expected that the iPhone 5 will be as much as the iPhone 4 was when released.

Basketball Wives LA star, Jackie Christie Loses Her Mother To Cancer

Jackie Christie called "The Tom Joyner Morning Show" this morning and revealed that she lost her mom earlier today. Her mom had a long battle with cancer and Jackie said she was happy that her mom made it to the 16th wedding of she and Doug before she died. My prayers and condolences go out to Jackie and her family at this sad time.  

Ne-Yo Is Engaged And Expecting Second Child

Ne-yo’s reps have confirmed to US Weekly, that he and his long time girlfriend, Atlanta boutique owner Monyetta Shaw, are expecting their second child together in October and are also planning to get married! Last year, Ne-Yo became a first time dad, when Monyetta gave birth to their daughter Madilyn Grace in November 2010. Ne-Yo was filled with joy as he tweeted to his followers:

A Night At The Emmy's

The celebrities stepped out in style for the 62nd Annual Emmy Awards. Kerry Washington looked amazing in a Jessica Rabbit meets Old Hollywood vibrant red sequin gown by Zuhair Murad. Heidi Klum and Seal looked ultra sexy with the madam wearing a gorgeous dressed designed by Project Runway's Christian Siriano and the gentleman rocking a black tailored suit with his linen shirt buttoned down just enough to show his oiled up chest. Along with Kerry the other showstopper of the night was Jurnee Smollet from The Great Debaters wearing a flawless deep purple flowing down which on her bronzed skin looked to die for. Of course with every best dressed list there are the worst dressed. Taraji P. Henson looked uncomfortable and unflattering in a gold and silver Blumarine dress and one of my favorites and most disappointed fashions of the night was Loretta Devine who needed to wear a bra and look tired in a green floor length gown.

I watched this special and even though i'm not a man nor can i pledge Alpha Phi Alpha i really enjoyed it and i think you young men would enjoy it to whether your an Alpha or not. 

TV One's The Ultimate Merger with Toccara

So I have been watching this season of The Ultimate Merger for the entire season and from the very first episode i always knew who were my top 4 which were Kevin "King", Jason, Frank, and Cedric. So last night the episode before the finale came on and guess who pops back up after being eliminated, Kevin (this is for those who missed the episode..but bare with me). So then at the end she decided to eliminate Cedric, the light skin, tall, handsome man who wore a cowboy hat and Kevin "King" the guy who flew across the country to sweep her off her feet, Damnn Toccara is cut throat.

But at the end the two finalist are Frank, the retired football player with the yummy chocolate complexion and Jason, the model cocky cute brown skin guy.

In my opinion if i was her i would pick Frank, he's lived the limelight crazy life already so he won't have problems dealing with her lifestyle, he's a business man he has that ruggedness about him that shows he could keep her in check but he seems like he could also fall back when he needs to let her do her at events. Jason on the other hand would have a lot in common with her being that their both models and most likely they would be going to a lot of the same events but... Jason is a big charmer and he is very sneaky and she would have to keep her eye on him as if he was a child.

I don't this is a hard decision for her who do you think she should pick drop it below in the comment box. I can't wait till next Thursday.

Playboy Magazine October Issue On Sale For 60 cents and Features 1960s Inspired Bunnys

It's a big month for Hef and the rest of the Playboy empire.

A 60-cent issue, a 1960s-inspired cover, an NBC show and a marketing scheme to tie them all together. The October issue of the adult magazine will hit the newsstands for 60 cents on Friday, reflecting the cost of the publication in its early years. The cover features NBC's "The Playboy Club" star Laura Benanti, dressed and posed much like a woman on a 1963 issue. The much-hyped Playboy series is set to air on Monday, Sept. 19 -- three days after the issue hits the shelves.

T.I. Released From Prison Again

Last week, family, friends, and fans of T.I got their hopes up when he was released from prison only to return the next day over transportation issues. Woomp Woomp! Okay, let’s try this once again. As of yesterday, The King of the South was released from prison again and entered a halfway house where he will complete the rest of his sentence.

According to his attorney, T.I will be released from custody on September 29th, and then will be supervised by U.S Probation Office for a period of 1 year. Hopefully, by then he will be able to enjoy the proper welcome back home without any shenanigans.

OMG! If you are a Trey Songz fan your about to lose it. Trey is coming out with not one but two mixtapes on November 1st. Anticipation II, which is a part two to the Anticipation mixtape he put out before his Ready album and#Lemmeholddatbeat2, which is Trigga Trey going at it again.

For all those who heard the first Anticipation, you know it was amazing track for track and hopefully part 2 will be as well. As far as #Lemmeholddatbeat2 I'm sure were all wondering what new hot songs he will be sampling. Overall I'm sure by November 2nd i will hear Trey blasting out of every car in New York.

Angry Birds is everywhere.  It’s on shirts, lunch boxes and birthday cakes.  There’s a board game, plushies and we’re fairly certain we’ll see Angry Birds the flamethrower before too long.  (The kids love this one.) There’s no stopping it.  According to Rovio, it has now been downloaded over 350 million times.  Think about that for a minute.  That’s the same as the estimated number of  people who have diabetes in the ENTIRE WORLD.  Granted, not every download has been a purchase—as the game has been made free on several occasions—but it still paints the picture of the widespread popularity that the game has achieved by allowing folks to impale birds onto structures made by evil pigs.

African Beauty Wins The Title Of Miss Universe

Last Night the Miss Universe pageant aired in Brazil and the lucky winner was Leila Lopes, the first woman from Africa, in the last 13 years to win this title and the first from her country.

Although she is georgeous just like the other contestants she really got the attention of the judges with the answers to her interview questions.

One question that was asked was if she could change one physical trait about herself what would it be and why? She replied “Thank God I’m very satisfied with the way God created me and I wouldn’t change a thing. I consider myself a woman endowed with inner beauty. I have acquired many wonderful principles from my family and I intend to follow these for the rest of my life.”

She seems like a very lovely woman with a good head on her shoulders.
